valU ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information valU collects, how it's used, and your choices.
When you use valU to scan an item, the photos you take and any notes you provide are sent to our server, which uses them to generate a price estimate and listing suggestion through a third-party AI service. We do not store these photos on our servers after the request is processed.
valU does not require an account, login, or personal information such as your name, email, or location to use the core scanning feature. Your scan history, settings, and preferences are stored only on your own device using local storage, and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
If you choose to contact us through the app, any information you provide (such as your email address) is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
valU uses a third-party AI service to analyze photos and generate price estimates. We do not control how this service may use data in accordance with its own privacy policy. valU also links out to third-party marketplace websites and apps (such as OfferUp, Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Depop, Mercari, and Poshmark); we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
Since your scan history is stored only on your device, you can delete it at any time using the "Clear All" option in the app's Settings tab, or by deleting the app entirely.
valU is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
